Waray-Waray is spoken in Samar, Biliran, and north-eastern Leyte.  Approximately 3 million people (4.6% of the population) speak Waray-Waray.

Waray-Waray belongs to the Visayan language family.  It is closely related to Hiligaynon.  It is a more harsh sounding language than Cebuano or Tagalog.  Waray-waray literally means "nothing nothing".
