Shipping Information
On May 14, 2007, the United States Post Office changed their rates and policies. There was a rate increase for domestic
Priority Mail service, but our shipping charge did not increase. Note: Postal rates are going up again in May of 2008!
There
was a greater impact for international shipping. The Post Office no longer offers Global Priority mail service, but
replaced it with Priority Mail. We'll ship internation using Priority Mail when appropriate.
Issues with Microsoft Vista Operating System
There is an incompatibility issue with the software and the new Vista operating system. Certain components of the software (translator
and dictionary) are not functional. Also, the Help system is not supported by Vista. Therefore, if you have the Microsoft
Vista operating system we advise not purchasing the software at this time. We will be working on an upgrade to be compatible
with Vista. A release date has not be determined yet.
This impacts the Cebuano, Tagalog, and Ilocano software. The other
language products (audio CDs, DVDs, etc.) are not impacted, even when running on a PC with Vista.
Making the Software Run on Vista
There are some solutions that may allow the software to run on Vista. These techniques have
been used successfully on Vista, but your results may vary.
- Problem: Error message when attempting to run the translator or dictionary. A warning dialog box states a file is
not registered or is corrupted (or similar message).
- Fix: Two steps - 1) disable the user account and then 2) manually
register a component. An example of how to accomplish this is on a web page for a software called Silhouette Ballistics,
located at http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jesse99/Vista.html. The file(s) and software are for another company, but the technique
is the same. We've had a report that only the first step was necessary, but this web page offers full details on the procedure.
- Problem: Help system not functioning. The problem is the Windows Help program (WinHlp32.exe) is no longer included with
Windows operating systems starting with Windows Vista.
- Fix: Download the Windows Help program from Microsoft. Go to http://support.microsoft.com:80/kb/917607 for
instructions.
- Problem: Graphics, or some images not aligned properly.
- Fix: Try running the progam in Windows XP compatibility
mode. Right click on your program (cebuano4.exe, tagalog4.exe, etc.) click Properties, click the Compatibility tab, and select
Windows XP from the drop-down box.
