The Visayan (Bisayan) language is one of the most popular languages of the Philippines. Approximately 24%, or 15 million residents of the Philippines speak Visayan (Cebuano). This is about the same number of people that speak Tagalog as a primary language.
Visayan is the generic name for the languages of the Visayan islands and parts of Mindanao. The major language of the Visayas region is Cebuano. Other Visayan languages are Ilonggo and Waray-Waray.
We previously produced a Visayan Language software product, but now produce it as Cebuano Language Software. It contains a database of Cebuano/English words. Currently, over 7,950 words are in the dictionary that can be translated to either language. Approximately 1,000 of the most common words have sound. You can hear these words in the language learning lessons and dictionary. The dictionary has two modes, one for only Visayan/Cebuano words that are spoken, and another mode that contains all the words - with and without sound. In addition, many map locations are spoken.
The current release of Cebuano Language Software is version 4.1. It is available on CD-ROM. The updated dictionary is free to existing customers of B&D Enterprises.
